【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesdosimetricprocedurestobefollowedincharacterizing,qualifying,andoperatingelectronbeamandbremsstrahlungirradiationfacilitiesforfoodprocessing.Otherproceduresrelatedtofacilitycharacterization,productqualification,androutineprocessingarealsodiscussed.Theelectronenergyrangecoveredinthispracticeisfrom0.1MeVto10MeV.Suchelectronscanbegeneratedincontinuousorpulsemodes.Themaximumphotonenergycoveredinthispracticeis5MeV.Aphotonbeamcanbegeneratedbyinsertingabremsstrahlungconverterintheelectronbeampath.Forguidanceintheselection,calibration,anduseofspecificdosimeters,andinterpretationofabsorbeddoseintheproductfromdosimetrymeasurements,seeGuideE1261,MethodE1026,andTestMethodE1205.FordiscussionofradiationdosimetryforXraysandgammarays,seeICRUReports14and17,andforpulsedradiation,seeICRUReport34.Forapplicationofdosimetryinthecharacterizationandoperationofagammairradiationfacilityforfoodprocessing,seePracticeE1204,whichalsocontainsmaterialrelevanttotheoperationofanacceleratorfacilityoperatedinabremsstrahlungmode.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
